The Barn at High Point
One of our favorite parts of Girls’ Gone Local is rediscovering places close to home that somehow still feel like a hidden gem. Our latest stop did exactly that — a perfect pairing of great food, welcoming service, and a little friendly competition, all right here in Jessamine County.
First Stop: The Barn at High Point 🍽️ at Thoroughbred Golf Club
If you’re looking for a place that nails the balance between elevated and comfortable, The Barn at High Point located at Thoroughbred Golf Club delivers every time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting — the kind of place where conversations linger and another round sounds like a great idea.
The food? Absolutely worth the hype. Thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Pair that with attentive service and expertly crafted drinks, and it’s no wonder this spot has become a local favorite. Whether you’re planning a date night, girls’ night, or just an excuse to treat yourself, The Barn at High Point sets the tone perfectly. Be sure to ask for Ron!
Next Up: The Golf Simulator — Not Just for Professionals ⛳✨
After lunch, we headed over to their onsite golf simulator, and let us just say — even if you’ve never picked up a club, this place belongs on your Jessamine County must-visit list.
The highlight of the day was hands-down their golf simulator. This isn’t your average practice setup — it allows you to play iconic courses from across the country, all without leaving Kentucky. One minute you’re in Jessamine County, the next you’re teeing off somewhere legendary. It was fun, interactive, and surprisingly addictive (don’t be shocked if a little friendly competition breaks out).
Add in great drinks, a relaxed atmosphere, and welcoming staff, and Thoroughbred Golf Club/The Barn at High Point becomes so much more than a traditional golf destination — it’s an experience.
